AddToAny vs. AddThis

In my last post, I mentioned my reservations/questions about AddThis flash cookie. Since then, AddThis has been great to answer my questions. From my research and asking questions, I feel I have a clear understanding of the flash cookie. In the simplest of terms, the flash cookie works very similar to Google Analytics, so as to provide detailed stats on how the service is being used.

I have chosen to use AddToAny for two reasons. First, AddToAny provides Google Analytics integration. AddThis does not currently have Google Analytics integration. Second, I feel uncomfortable tracking people outside of Google Analytics.

To be fair, I think both AddThis and AddToAny provide great services. We use AddThis at work and I really like how AddThis can be customized. I do hope AddThis will eventually allow analytics integration in the future.

Flash Cookies and addThis: Good or Bad?

I have been looking into using addThis, specifically to include it in flash push pages. In my research, I have come across the issue of flash cookies. I am not quite sure how I feel yet, but so far, the reaction from the community has not been welcoming. See these posts for background:
