Flash Cookies and addThis: Good or Bad?

I have been looking into using addThis, specifically to include it in flash push pages. In my research, I have come across the issue of flash cookies. I am not quite sure how I feel yet, but so far, the reaction from the community has not been welcoming. See these posts for background:

Hi, my name is Justin Thorp. I’m the Community Manager for AddThis. I’d be anxious to hear your thoughts on the AddThis Flash cookie. For us, the flash cookie helps to provide us with the most accurate analytics for our publishers and it provides for better personalization. E-mail me – justin@addthis.com.

Hi Justin… I am just looking into this, so I am not sure about flash cookies. Can you specify what personal information is being tracked with the addThis flash cookie? I have not found a post on what addThis specifically tracks. Thanks.

Just found these posts that I think help the conversation. It is good to know that there is a way to disable the flash cookie. Though it would be great to know specifically what addThis tracks. Hope this helps the community:

So… I take it because I see Add to Any on your page that you’ve made a decision?
